IDEAL and the Daily Local

DOWNINGTOWN — A new citizens group that supports development and revitalization is taking shape.

The group announced its recent formation at Wednesday's Borough Council meeting.

Resident Cara DeStefano told council that she and about 60 other residents met Nov. 12 to form IDEAL, which stands for Invigorate Downingtown's Economy and Lifestyle.

The group's stated mission is to support revitalization and development in the borough to increase the tax base and property values, she said.

"I want to see our property values and quality of life thrive here," DeStefano said in a written statement.

The group's initial focus is on the proposed development of Kardon Park.

Last month, the Chester County Orphans' Court ruled the borough could not sell the park for private development. That case is being ap

pealed by the developer and the borough in Commonwealth Court.

  5. Just out of curiosity, was my last post on the last thread censored as well, or just lost in that nasty 'spam" filter?

Is the censorship on this website "fear", a need for "safety" or just a totalitarian instinct?

    Just wondering.

  6. If I pull anything off I will put a notice up as I did. Otherwise it is out my control if the filters think that your posts belong in the spam folder. One would think that if it is posted once and rejected by blogspot then it would be a bit silly to keep posting it over and over again. What is the definition of insanity...doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results.........just a thought.

  7. Yeah, blame it on "the filters".

  8. The only drama and trash talking on here has all been instigated by those in FOKP or the supporters of them.

Elaine I applaud your effort for i would just deleted them all with no explination ... You have far more patience then I do. But the more I think about it .. the fact that you have posted the drivel they spew is what got me to stop fence sitting.

Keep doing the work that you are doing Elaine. FOKP will continue to degrade themselves and make themselves look bad. They have already done a great job on the Locals website.

Last Laugh made the same Goethe quote on the LOCALS page ... and it had the same results there as well and went ignored.

  10. Ah yes, the "fence-sitting" "Downingtown Resident" aka, "dtownresident" on the DLN blog. Avid pro-development mouthpiece from Main Street.

    What kind of shallow person would have no opinion on the selling of a public park, and then make a decision because they didn't like the way someone commented on a blog. (As opposed to the facts of the matter}

Please. I'm not buying that, and nobody else is either.

Just how many supporters would someone expect to get by advocating censorship?

Last time I checked, censorship is universally condemned.

  11. You are right censorship when it truly happens is condemned, but see you can't fix stupid so better to just delete it.

  12. last laugh ... once again you are WRONG
I am not the same person posting in the LOCALs web pages ...

You are also WRONG about it being this blog that changed me from sitting on the fence. True this was the straw that broke it .... but most of the rantings on the locals site is what got the ball rolling in this direction.

Now you are calling me SHALLOW .. .that is a last laugh in itself. believe what you want because you will anyway ... I do not need to explain my motives to you. Just keep opening up your mouth on this blog and over at the Local, I am just happy your not on this side of the fence. My IQ lowers when I read your thoughts .. so I choose to no longer read or respond to you.

  13. How did I get dragged into this p***ing match?
The last comment was posted by Laugh Last, not last laugh.

But if dtownresident or DOWNINGTOWN RESIDENT is going to shut up, finally...YIPPEE!

I agree though, that anyone who cares, one way or the other, would not be swayed by blog comments. That would be a pretty sad commentary in itself.
